Worrigee Nature Reserve hazard reduction burn

The hazard reduction burn is set to treat approximately 5 ha of bushland and is expected to take place over 3 days and will occur in the northwest area of the reserve.

The low intensity burn aims to reduce fuel loads in the conservation area to assist in the protection of the area from future bushfires.
Smoke may impact properties in the local area including Nowra and South Nowra, as well as Worrigee Road and streets coming off Isa Road. Motorists should exercise caution when driving in the area.

All walking trails north of Quinns Gate, including Worrigee North trail and the Pipeline trail will be closed for the duration of the burn.

These areas will be reopened when burning operations are complete and they are deemed safe.

Hazard reduction burns are essential to reduce bushfire fuel loads to help protect parks, neighbours and communities from future bushfires.
