The Blue Mountains National Park and Kanangra-Boyd National Park are the core of one of the largest and most intact stretches of protected bushland in New South Wales. The parks are part of the Greater Blue Mountains Area World and National Heritage property, they contain significant areas of wilderness, occupy a large part of the Sydney Drinking Water Catchment and are key attractions in a major tourism region.
The plan of management provides for the ongoing protection of the parks’ significant natural and cultural values while also managing increasing visitor numbers and demand for a diversity of recreational opportunities.
