In this education resource, we describe 28 animals that are threatened in New South Wales. They represent a range of animal types that live in different places with diverse ecosystems. Some rely on specific habitat features in the environment to eat, breed and survive.

Section one shows how the exploration of threatened species is linked to numerous learning areas across the Australian Curriculum. It also provides some ideas for activities and questions associated with the animals.

Section two tells you a little about each animal and links to more information on the Environment and Heritage website, where you will also find maps and photos of the species.

The resource is supported by a series of drawings by nature artist Tallulah Cunningham and we provide ideas for activities and questions associated with the animals and the drawings.
